the pursuit of happyness, i actually wanted to watched it when it first came on screen back than in 2007, but i missed it. watched it yesterday instead. my first comment, absolutely beautiful movie. the casts were simple, yet they were able to bring out the essence of the movie, which is trying to portray the pursuit of happyness, by the way the word happyness is purposely spelt wrongly ( as in the movie ). the movie shows about this man going all out to achieve what he have in mind, and that is a better tomorrow, during his toughest times, he slept in the toilet of a subway station, he slept in a halfway house. the only material comfort he could give his son during his toughest time is only a piece of candy bar, yet when the son got the candy bar, his eyes were filled with happiness, contentment. as i watched the movie, i sobbed at some parts, it's a very touching movie, it's a movie about love, the love of a dad, who will go all out just to achieve something. i got this quote from the movie which i think it's very true
" don't ever let someone tell you...you can't do something"
"you got a dream, protect it. people can't do something themselves, they want to tell you, you can't do it. if you want something go get it"
the movie is pure inspirational, after the movie, flashbacks of my dad just came in mind, dreamt of him that night.
