Tuesday, October 7

Alright, a couple of weeks ago i entered this competition on asiaone.com and it's about writing your most memorable drinking experience, so i tried my luck and won 4 tickets to Paulaner Bräuhaus's Oktoberfest 2008. The place is located at Millenia Walk.

So went there this evening for the Oktoberfest with Ahern, Yaping and Joycelyn. The place is pretty nice, Level 1 is the pub and microbrewery, Level 2 is the restaurant, and the 3rd Level is the gallery and restrooms. The whole interior decor of the place is very cosy and nice. So, we were first served with drinks, and the buffet started. There were loads of traditional german food, and i particularly loved the pork knuckle, which is very succulent and flavourful, also a great dish would be the munich nurbenger saussage, which is very nice as well. The food was pretty nice and the best part is we have a free flow of house-brewed beer. The beer is house-brewed, and it tasted soothing, yet not too bitter to the taste.

The whole party was very fun, there were loads of performances going on by the live band, which was performed by tradtional german band, although i don't understand german, however their tunes were pretty familiar, like "chicken dance". Also there was these couple of competitions, like "Beer-Drinking competion", where 2 out of 5 of the participants puke on the spot, which was pretty gross, and there was this "Couple-eating saussage competition", Joycelyn and me was nearly being sabotaged to go and take part in it, but luckily we were saved, and instead Ahern and Yaping went, so we cheered them on, and clapped and cheered. The whole atmosphere of the place was pretty nice, people drinking, there's nice food, great company of friends, you meet different people, socialise quite abit. It's very interesting.

Another interesting thing is that i learnt how to say "cheers' in german, it's called "Prost" and i learnt it from these 2ladies who were dressed in traditional german costumes i supposed, and they were just going around and toasting to people, dancing to the music and basically just livening up the whole mood! It was a great experience afterall!

We left the place around 10.30pm, and i felt abit tipsy after that. I drank like 3litres of beer, and when i reached home, i headed straight for the washroom, and my stomach is in total discomfort. I pray that it will be well by tomorrow.
