Agony

Last night's game was perhaps one of the most heartbreaking games i watched since the 2007/08 champion's league final. Michael Essien did a terrific volley in the first quarter and gave chelsea a slender 1-0 lead against barcelona. The referee did a poor job, we had multiple valid claims for penalties, but were all ruled off, including one obvious handball on pique. And then barceleona seized the opportunity and had an equaliser, in the 92th mins.

I still feel the regret now, that we were so close to the final and were ruled off due to bad referee-ing. It was really a bad night, i thought i could celebrate and cheered, but it's okay, we played a beautiful game, the players were on great display of football and we put up a real fight against the "best team in the world". I guess we could now only focus on the FA Cup, and will be back next season, stronger & we will!

This incident perhaps sums up one of the most frequently used quotes of all times, "Life is always unfair".

Besides poor refereeing, Chelsea only had themselves to blame for not killing the game off. They allowed Barca to dictate the pace, even when they are one man down.

Barca had a really good midfield, it wasn't surprising that they were dictating the midfield, but the ball would often be stopped at the defensive line. But we could have won 3-0 if the penalties were given, but well, next year i guess. lols!
