Location : Bukit Timah Food Centre
This satay stall is located primely at the end of the Food Centre, it's aroma could be smelt just before you turn inside the corner. And of course with just great smell of the satay, the taste is of course fabulous. The chicken meat is tender yet there's a crsip of burnt skin, and it gives the satay a very nice texture. A nice satay will not be considered without the peanut gravy. And what's so special about this stall's satay is that it adds grated pineapple into the sauce, and the pineapple which has a tinge of soury taste brings the whole flavour of the peanut sauce out, very good sauce.
2.) Satay Beehoon
Still staying with the word "satay" this time round, however with an added beehoon behind. Have not tried satay beehoon before this visit, and was pretty apprehensive before i took my first bite, but the queue says it all, the sauce of the beehoon was not too thick & gluey and it goes well with the beehoon. Served with prawns as well as sliced meat, it gives the beehoon added flavour and texture. A disappointment would be that perhaps due to the long queue, the beehoon was not cut, and it's pretty hard to eat them, having to use your chopsticks to cut them.
3.) Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee
One of my favourite dishes for the night, this stall's hokkien mee is really up to the mark. Some stalls selling this hokkien mee tend to cook the noodles with too much broth which makes the noodles very soggy, or too little, which makes it very dry. I love my noodles to be just right, with it more on the "wet" side, and this stall has done it, it was very well done, with a generous portion of sliced fatty meat and prawns, and the chilli which compliments it was spicy enough as well.
4.) BBQ wings/stingray/sotong/lala
The above food item mentioned ain't really that healthy i know, but when it comes to good food, who could actually resist the temptation of sinking your teeth into those appetising sotongs/lala. Anyway, all the items mentioned above were just mediocre, i was expecting more from the stingray, but the taste just didn't got me. And the bbq wings were just average as well. Lala wasn't good at all, the taste was just like chilli crabs, substituted the crabs for lala.
Overall, it was a great dining experience, and the food items there are definetly worth another go, given the reasonable pricing of the items there as well. Enjoy!
