Eighteen Chefs

Nestled under a quiet shopping corner at yishun, this newly-opened cafe Eighteen Chefs has a very interesting story behind it's name. It's basically a place where it's run mostly by ex-offenders and delinquentas who were given another chance to change their lives. I thought that it is a very interesting concept to come up with, giving other people another chance. The whole concept of this cafe reminds me of Jamie Oliver's Fifteen, which has about the same philosophy in mind as Eighteen Chefs.
Okay, enough about the philosophy of the shop, the interior of the shop looks somewhat very modern and clean, it has very nice photos on the walls, with clear lightings which makes the place looks very clean and bright. The service staff there were excellent, no complains about the service staff, from the very friendly and bubbly service staff at the counter, to the attentive server, they basically showed really good service quality which is lacking in some big food-chains. The food however was nothing to be wowed about, but considering the economical prices of the items there, i thought the taste was still fairly okay. I had this chicken saussage baked pasta, the only part i liked about it would be the cheese and the chicken saussage, the noodles were abit on the "soggy" side, and could have been better if it was "al dente". The meal which cost about $6.50 comes with a main dish, ice lemon tea and a scoop of ice cream, very cheap i would say.
And i would be sure to come back again, given it's wonderful dining experience with the great service staffs at hand. It's located opposite Northpoint, beside the movie theatre's ticketing office.
